Jon Barker is an award-winning landscape and travel photographer based in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, and is the founder, author and photographer behind the acclaimed series of interactive digital travel guides Global Photo Guides; ebooks designed specifically to inspire photographers and creative influencers of all levels to journey off the beaten track to discover hidden gems teeming with photographic potential.
Born in 1982, Jon grew up in an area rich in natural beauty with the Yorkshire Dales to the north and the Peak District to the south, which along with his love of travel sparked a lifelong passion for photography. To date his images have featured in publications such as The Independent, have been used by international brands including Manfrotto, and in 2016 photography community ViewBug announced him as one of the website’s ‘Top 10 New Photographers’.
In addition to creating ebooks for the Global Photo Guides series, Jon shoots for private and corporate clients, specialising in travel and landscape photography. Furthermore Jon boasts a first class honours in Computing and Business from the University of Northumbria and over a decade of experience as a digital producer, masterfully creating audio, video and photographic content. In his spare time Jon enjoys playing drums and producing music for the bands: In Clean Air, and Defective.
